Welcome to TRIO Student Support Services at UC Berkeley!

TRIO Student Support Services (TRIO SSS) is a federally funded outreach and student services program that serves low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities. We are one of three TRIO SSS programs on campus and one of seven Transfer Student Programs in the Centers for Educational Equity and Excellence (CE3) that work with transfer students from post-admission through graduation.

TRIO SSS provides a wide range of services and resources to guide students through their journey, connect them to valuable opportunities, and support them in achieving their academic and professional goals:

  • Holistic advising
  • Academic study skills and strategies support
  • Financial aid and literacy guidance
  • Graduate and professional school assistance
  • Career exploration
  • Cultural and community-building activities
  • Peer mentorship

Throughout their time at UC Berkeley, TRIO SSS Scholars receive academic advising, which includes guidance on establishing individualized success plans, assistance with course selection, and support with study skills and strategies. TRIO SSS Scholars also benefit from tutoring, mentoring, and regular one-on-one check-ins with their assigned TRIO SSS Counselor. Additionally, TRIO SSS Scholars have access to dedicated study and community spaces.

Being a first-generation student represents the result of my family's dedication and sacrifices for our prosperity. It embodies my capacity to pursue aspirations I once believed weren't meant for people like me.
