Welcome to SSS at Cal!
Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program serving first-generation, low-income, and disabled transfer students. We work with transfer students from post-admission through graduation. As an SSS program participant, you benefit from support that is tailored, holistic, and individualized. A team of professional counseling staff and SSS transfer student peer advocates work together to assist you with navigating this new campus culture and exploring and imagining the many possibilities and opportunities that exist.
Throughout their time at Berkeley, SSS Scholars receive academic assessment and advising; guidance as they establish their individual study plans, aid in selecting their courses and creating academic achievement plans; tutoring and mentoring; regular one-on-one check-ins; and opportunities to participate in several SSS credit bearing courses. Students also have access to personal counseling, financial literacy courses, graduate school preparation, and career services.
